My two writer friends shall torture annoying roommate guy if he shows up here for NaNoWriMo. :-) She's gonna call him different, funny names that start with M (which is his first inital), and I have no idea what my other friend shall do. I don't think it's gonna be particularly pleasant, but it'll be funny, and I'd be willing to bet roommate guy won't even understand most of it. It'll go right over his head. And I will laugh the maniacal laughter!!!
Since I'm here to write, I think I shall write. It's definitely time. :-)

sharing my NaNoWriMo?
Annoying roommate guy has decided to give NaNoWriMo a shot this year. This is the guy who told me last year that there was no way that he could write something that wasn't perfect when he wrote it down--none of this speed drafting stuff would ever work for him. Well, good on him for trying...but I'm really interested in seeing how this will all end for him. And when it will end. And if he shows up at my Wayward write-ins, I am gonna have an issue. Can I write when truly pissed off? We may find out...
Halloween costume: harpie. Got the red face makeup stuff, long black velvet skirt, black velvet tank top (tho I think I'm going to hop online and see if I can find something else for cheap-ish that won't require a lot of alterations). Also thinking about doing black hair with reddish streaks in it. Should be very dramatic! :-)
Need to look at some pics of harpies, too. And figure out how to be in character!

working weekends?!?
*rant on*
Seriously... I don't work weekends. I only ever have by volunteer as a one-off thing. And now I might HAVE to work them? Load of shit. Yet another reason to keep up with the plan, like I really needed another. And what ever happened to rewarding seniority and company loyalty? I've been here almost 5 years now, and I might have to work weekends NOW? Absolute shit.
*rant off*
On the upside, I have my tickets for Strowler Nights, and I think I have a costume mostly figured out, too--without spending a red cent. :-) Well, I did buy the makeup kit that gave me the general idea in the first place, but that's not bad. And I might do something feathery and/or weird with my hair, and possibly some non-permanent dye (or maybe I'll just go permanent!!!) so that'll be a little more. Totally sweet. :-)
Now I have to have the new guy shadow me for two hours. That's gonna suck a lot. So much for more blogging, writing, or listening to music for the final two hours of my shift. I HATE Mondays and Tuesdays. I'm gonna go home and seriously start applying for jobs tonight. Oooo, Rina was gonna email me...

Monday, Monday...
The beds at Seabeck seriously SUCK. I feel like I need to crack everything in my back, but it's not working well. :-P I am going to do my very best to go to yoga tomorrow morning and stretch all of this out.
Work, work, work...then a board meeting, then home to bed. With my awesome pillow and my awesome bed, and a little bit of stretching beforehand!
And I've decided to stop eating donuts and candy...and yet I had an apple fritter this morning, and now all I want is candy. Stupid carb cravings.
On the upside, I got a little further in a short story already this morning. :-) And I'm waiting for the SJ Tucker website to start f-ing playing, already. I don't know what the deal is here, but it's annoying and making me sleepier.
No more days off until the end of the year. Boo hiss!!! Stupid January pneumonia.
I really need to purchase all the SJ Tucker, Tricky Pixie, and Marian Call music I listen to. It's very helpful in terms of inspiration when writing.

Seamsters retreat on Thursday...
...and I can't wait. Thursday and Friday are my last days off this year, unless they give PTO options for holidays coming up (Thanksgiving and Christmas). Honestly, I'd much rather they offer monetary remuneration for working the holidays; I can do a lot with extra money, and not much with an extra day off. :-P But this weekend is going to be GOOD. I have cross stitching, a couple of knitting projects I could start on/continue, and then Jenny is bringing those quilt squares that I'm going to put together for a caring quilt. :-) And then there's that jelly roll I've been carrying around for a few years now...and Annie's corset. I don't think I'm going to bring that; I'm going to schedule time with her next weekend for us to go up to see Mom and get that finished.
Yesterday was a little rocky for me; started out in a good mood with walking/jogging Greenlake, and by the time I got to work I had gone most of the way downhill. Accidentally sent an email to the person who was annoying me about that person annoying me, rather than sending it to a teammate. *sigh* I did take a nice long-ish lunch though, which was good. I've never seen a Jimmy John's so busy! Then again, I've never been to a Jimmy John's at noon, either. I may be avoiding hitting there around noon even again--I stood in line for like 10 minutes, and had my sandwich in about 2. Sure enough, freaky fast!
Watched both episodes of Fringe for the season last night. I really like that show; and Ana Torv is doing a very good job of being both Olivia and Fauxlivia. :-) And Peter's still a cutie, Walter is awesome, and Astrid is adorable. Broyles is Broyles, even though his alternate is involved with Walternate somehow.
Now I just need Supernatural to put up its next episode. I want to see how long Dean lasts out of the game while Sammy and their grandpa and cousins are around. I also want to start formulating who's out to get them--who brought back Samuel and Sammy, why, and what their endgame is.
Forgot I'm getting my flu shot today. The first day in HOW long I don't wear a short-sleeved shirt or a tank top, and it's flu shot day. *sigh* Crazy me.

romance story finalists
I was going to write and submit a short story for this paranormal romance competition, but I didn't. This is one of the things I want to work on in my life--setting writing goals and making them.
I've always been attached to keeping schedules and stuff on paper--I absolutely loved my Franklin Covery planner. Now I use my cell phone, which usually works, but it's just a cell phone--it's little, it doesn't give me the satisfaction of flipping pages and writing appointments and goals, and it doesn't give me the rush of being able to cross stuff off as I get it done. Am I being too paperbound? It's hard to tell. I feel like if I have this perfectly useful gadget, I should use it. But I really, really want a paper planner, too.
Maybe I'll see what Fred Meyer has for cheap next time I'm in there.
Jeremy and Dawn use an online scheduler, which is very handy for them, apparently--especially in terms of scheduling out time each day for writing. I feel like an hourly planner would be much more useful to me.
Hmmm...maybe I'll take a walk to FM today on my lunch... ;-)

Excitement...over
There was a car accident IN our parking lot this morning. Very exiting, given that no one was injured, and my car was not one of the two upon which the car LANDED. Now that the car is gone, as is one of the injured cars, it's totally not exciting anymore.
AND I just had Zen Yai for lunch--yummy, but sort of food coma inducing, as per usual. I need to go get some more water.
At the Seamsters retreat next week, it's likely I will be putting together a quilt top to start on finishing a caring quilt!!! I hope to talk them into letting me hand quilt, so it'll feel like I did more, but I don't know if that'll fly. It'll just be stitch-in-the-ditch, like I did with Luke's baby quilt (same pattern), but I really, really want to.
Got me a soundtrack for NaNo 2010. :-) Though now that I think about it, there may be a couple of things missing--like some David Bowie. I know that's on my iPod, but I don't see it on my computer anywhere. Must be on my external hard drive...
Must email Kim...
